Multi Tabling
Some people can be involved in more than one task at a time while some will find it very difficult. For instance, a housewife who is looking over a small baby, cooking and ironing clothes at the same time. Some will find it very hard to these this such that they would require the services of a house help. Similarly, poker players can play more than one game at a time, better referred to as multi tabling. Multi tabling in poker just means concentrating on not one table but several tables. Multi tabling is not easy and sometimes not the best kind of game to engage in, hence you need to consider some things before you start playing several tables.
Working on many different activities at the same time does not mean that you give your best as you may only be doing a rough work of each. When you multi table, there is the possibility that you are not playing as you should because you need to divide your attention between the various tables you are involved in. Poker is a game of wining or losing money and if you are going to play carelessly then your chances of losing money are high. Multi table only when you feel you can give your best at each table.
To be able to multi table, you will need to do a lot of practice and to get to know the game well. You may not have a lot of time to do enough practice due to involvement in other daily activities. Without practice, even playing one table will be difficult let alone many tables. You might loose dearly if you choose to multi table without enough knowledge and tactics in the game so I tend to that think sometimes multi tabling is not the best while playing poker.
When playing many tables at the same time, you become easy target to those who like exploiting others in the games, especially when playing with people who are only concentrating on one table. These people know that you need to keep up all the games with only one mind and chances are you might get tired somewhere so they wait to see you tire so that they get a chance to start winning.
You have to focus on every move you make while playing poker which is quite a challenge when dealing with many tables since you have less time to do that. Multi tabling should therefore be left to those with faster decision making abilities and those that are already experts in the game. Remember you can still play a single game and win so wait until you are an expert to start multi tabling.
